Please see below for further information on our extended access appointments.
We aim to offer you a routine doctor's appointment within 2 working days, however, this may be a little longer if you are waiting to see a specific doctor.
We have appointments which are available for booking in advance, usually up to a month.
We also offer appointments with our practice nurse specialists who are qualified to see patients and prescribe medication if necessary.
If all appointments are fully booked we offer a Triage Service whereby a Clinician (Doctor/Nurse) will discuss your problem with you over the telephone and offer appropriate advice.
We also have an arrangement with Pharmacies who will give you advice and medication if required, for certain Minor Ailments. The receptionist will advise whether this is appropriate.
We will ensure that if the clinician or Pharmacist decides that you need to be seen, you will be given an appointment with the Duty doctor.
Note: Please remember to cancel an appointment if you are unable to attend.
For on-the-day help visit our Drop-in clinic, one problem per patient from 08:30 to 10:00 Monday - Friday. This clinic is for new problems and not for routine follow-up, you will be seen by the Duty Clinician for that day. You can ask for a male or female clinician, but may not necessarily be seen by your usual Doctor.
No appointment is required for this clinic.
We also offer telephone advice - you may not need to come to the surgery so we could save you a trip! These are pre-booked, just ring or some into the surgery to request a telephone consultation.
Our Practice is actively involved in research. If you are invited to take part in a research project you can be assured that the study has been approved by the Primary Care Research Network and the National Institute for Health Research.
Appointments made but patients simply don’t turn up without cancelling and giving us the opportunity to offer this to another patient who needs it.
This problem is ever increasing for us and we have to tackle it. PLEASE note that we have to adopt the following procedure and action will be taken. Should a patient do this more than 3 times in a six month period they will be asked to leave the practice and removed from our list. This rule has always applied however we have been reluctant to action it I am sorry but we now have to for the benefit of all of our other patients.
Please find below a list of the usual days the Doctors are in the practice, please note that these can change due to annual leave.

When booking your appointment with a Doctor or Nurse, you are welcome to ask for a chaperone. This will usually be a member of the Nursing team. However, if a Nurse is unavailable and with your agreement, another staff member trained to chaperone may be asked to do this.
Please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back for more information about your problem as it may be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange hospital treatment.
Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
